A bold new service uses a digital platform to combat loneliness among seniors

NexJ Health, working with Call&Check Limited and the UK postal service, needed a secure, resilient local infrastructure to launch a digital outreach program that helps combat loneliness among isolated seniors. The challenge was meeting strict healthcare, postal, and data-residency requirements while supporting a virtual care platform for elderly check-ins.

IBM Cloud provided the infrastructure NexJ Health needed through IBM Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, along with IBM Cloud Block Storage and IBM Cloud Object Storage for encrypted backups and secure data handling. IBM’s solution enabled a fast rollout in hours, supported local data residency and encryption, and scaled easily; in trial locations, 93% of participants said they valued the postal worker visits and were satisfied with the program.
