Eliminating entry barriers for financial institutions with ASP-type FX/CFD infrastructure

Trade Works, a fintech company that develops online transaction systems for financial institutions, faced a major challenge in FX/CFD platforms: traditional systems were costly and time-consuming to build, creating barriers for new entrants and making upgrades difficult. With IBM and its IBM Power/IBM i platform, Trade Works sought a more stable, secure foundation for mission-critical financial services.

IBM helped Trade Works build a shared ASP-style FX/CFD service, TradePower FX/CFD, using IBM Power, IBM i, Db2 for i, and related IBM software. The result was a dramatic reduction in implementation time from about a year to roughly three months, and construction costs were cut to about one-third of what a financial institution would spend on its own. Trade Works first deployed the solution at GMO Aozora Net Bank, enabling stable operations and faster rollout of FX/CFD services.
