Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer, needed to gain full autonomy over the A220 Programme after acquiring a majority stake, but it was constrained by the seller’s shared IT environment and complex legacy integrations. IBM implemented a hybrid cloud migration to Google Cloud Platform using IBM Consulting Advantage for Cloud Transformation, IBM Aspera, IBM Terraform, Red Hat OpenShift, and other technologies. IBM helped Airbus complete the transition on time and on budget, with no operational disruption, increasing production from 6 to 10 aircraft per month, accelerating financial month-end close by 40%, boosting engineering releases by 20%, and transferring over 1 billion files and 2.5 petabytes of data up to 4x faster than traditional methods.
