A IBM Case Study
Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the central counterparty clearinghouse for U.S.-listed options, needed to modernize its legacy IT environment to handle growing transaction complexity, manual operations, and security demands. Its upgrade cycles were taking up to 18 months for minor updates, slowing market efficiency and limiting scalability.
IBM Client Engineering designed a containerization solution using IBM Sterling B2B data exchange products, including IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling Control Center Monitor, and related tools. With IBM, OCC expects to cut minor upgrade time to 1.5 days, support more than 500 GB of daily transactions, improve autoscaling and monitoring, and create a more resilient foundation for future hybrid cloud and AI innovation.
