A IBM Case Study
SMS DataTech, a Tokyo-based computer services company providing IT infrastructure and security solutions, struggled to sift through massive volumes of security alerts, vulnerability reports, and breach data with limited staff. This made it difficult to keep up with network and cloud security, vulnerability management, and internal training, while also slowing executive reporting and proactive planning. To address these challenges, SMS DataTech turned to IBM and its IBM watsonx portfolio, including IBM watsonx.data and IBM watsonx.ai.
IBM helped SMS DataTech build a scalable, reliable security platform on IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service that could centralize information and automate analysis. As a result, daily information gathering time fell by about 92% and security report creation time dropped by 75%, from 40 hours a month to 10 hours. With IBM, SMS DataTech shifted from reactive security operations to a more proactive, data-driven approach that improved efficiency, security awareness, and organizational trust.
