Phoenix OCP boosts pharmaceutical delivery with IBM

Phoenix OCP, a leading pharmaceutical distributor in France, needed a more flexible OPEX model and a scalable, future-ready infrastructure for its growing back-office applications, including its data warehouse and warehouse management system. Its existing IBM Power7 environment hosted by a third party could not be upgraded to IBM Power9 servers, putting continuity, performance, and timely medication delivery at risk. Phoenix OCP turned to IBM Power Virtual Server on IBM Cloud to modernize its operations.

IBM, working with TeamWork, implemented a cloud solution using IBM Power Virtual Server, IBM Storage Protect, and IBM Cloud Object Storage alongside bare metal x86 infrastructure. The migration delivered 99.99% system uptime post-migration, reduced new-service onboarding from hours to minutes, and eliminated the need to buy physical servers. Phoenix OCP also improved response times, cost visibility, and scalability, helping pharmacies receive supplies within 24 hours and strengthening service quality.
