A IBM Case Study
Bay Point Advisors, an Atlanta-based investment management firm focused on private-market opportunities, faced slow investment decisions because advisors had to manually review large secure data rooms full of PDFs, spreadsheets, and contracts. The firm wanted a faster, secure way for clients to query these documents conversationally and get accurate, citation-backed answers. To meet that need, Bay Point Advisors worked with IBM using IBM watsonx.data and IBM DataStax Astra DB as part of an AI-powered RAG platform.
IBM helped Bay Point Advisors build Atlas, a secure conversational data-access platform that turns static documents into a searchable knowledge layer. The solution reduced document review and research time from hours to seconds, improved client response times, and strengthened confidence with grounded answers and end-to-end permissions. IBM’s hands-on support also accelerated development and helped ensure the platform’s success.
