Jettime achieves significant savings by optimizing workforce planning

Jettime, a Danish charter airline and ACMI company, struggled to accurately plan crew across complex, shifting flight schedules and strict regulations. Its manual Excel-based approach could not keep up, making it hard to place the right crew in the right locations efficiently. Jettime partnered with IBM and CogniTech, using IBM Planning Analytics to replace its unreliable forecasting process.

IBM implemented a crew planning solution that integrated with Jettime’s crew and data systems and applied rules to optimize utilization. The result was greater accuracy, transparency, and efficiency, with crew-pairing forecasts cut from six days to just three hours and high six-figure savings achieved. Jettime also gained the ability to plan up to five years ahead and is now exploring additional uses with IBM.
