Modernizing storage monitoring with AI-driven insights

Evernorth Health Services, a leading pharmacy, care and benefits solutions provider, was facing rapidly rising storage monitoring costs and limited visibility from its existing storage provider. The team needed a more scalable, flexible, and cost-effective way to monitor datasets from all sources while reducing scheduling overhead and improving data access, so it turned to IBM and IBM OMEGAMON for Storage on z/OS.

IBM, working with Rocket Software, implemented a new monitoring solution with near real-time data access, automated scanning and reporting, and integration with Evernorth’s existing RMM, HSM, and security systems. Delivered within nine months, the solution improved efficiency and decision-making, gave users faster access to storage metrics, and helped Evernorth cut costs while supporting capacity planning and CAPEX forecasting across a 4M DASD, 30M DFHSM, and 2.6M tape dataset environment.
