Ellevio keeps the lights on with a transformational solution on IBM Maximo

Ellevio, one of Sweden’s largest electricity infrastructure owners, needed a better way to maintain more than 500 substations across its 80,000-kilometer network, especially in remote areas with a shrinking pool of skilled engineers. The company wanted to move beyond scheduled and reactive maintenance and improve remote monitoring and outage prevention using IBM Maximo.

IBM, working with business partner Gomero, integrated sensor data from substation assets into IBM Maximo to enable real-time monitoring, automated alerts, and data-driven maintenance planning. The solution is expected to reduce site visits and maintenance costs, improve safety, extend asset life, and lower environmental and outage risk, including earlier detection of SF6 gas leaks and more timely maintenance interventions.
