A IBM Case Study
Ajuntament de L’Hospitalet, the city council serving nearly 300,000 residents in Catalonia, Spain, faced performance issues and rising risk as its aging storage infrastructure neared end of life. The council needed to modernize its core storage while avoiding disruption to essential municipal services and maintaining secure, 24x7 access for residents. IBM FlashSystem 5200 was selected to help replace the outdated system.
Working with Logicalis Spain, Ajuntament de L’Hospitalet implemented IBM FlashSystem 5200 and IBM Storage Networking SAN64B-7, using IBM HyperSwap to create a stretch-cluster, active-active setup. IBM helped deliver sub-second response times, zero RTO and RPO, improved performance for more than 150 virtual machines, and reduced the data center footprint and operating costs while strengthening availability and security.
