Its custom reporting tool did not give engineers enough transparency or require ongoing maintenance, making it difficult to manage spend, unused resources, and showback across teams.

IBM implemented IBM Cloudability to centralize billing data, improve visibility, and give engineers self-service insights into actual cloud spend. The result was stronger collaboration across FinOps, finance, and engineering, plus measurable savings through better optimization: FactSet increased Amazon RDS reserved instance coverage from 40% to 90% and gained the ability to track costs more precisely across accounts.
