Case Study: Société Générale Maroc achieves modern, high-performance digital banking with IBM

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Société Générale Maroc Case Study

Laying strong foundations for innovative banking Société Générale Maroc (Société Générale), Power Maroc and IBM

Société Générale Maroc needed to modernize its aging, monolithic banking applications as customer demand grew and its legacy messaging and ESB setup began causing performance issues, making it harder to deliver digital services and share data with partners. The bank worked with IBM and IBM Platinum Business Partner Power Maroc, using IBM solutions such as Guardium, IBM MQ, Instana, and IBM Cloud Pak, to move toward a microservices-based, API-first architecture.

IBM and Power Maroc upgraded the bank’s security, messaging, and observability capabilities, helping resolve performance issues and reduce technical debt while laying the groundwork for containerized microservices. As a result, Société Générale Maroc improved reliability and positioned itself for faster innovation, better customer service, and easier integration with third parties, supporting future digital growth at scale.
