DTEK and IBM partner to protect energy infrastructures from cyberattacks

DTEK Group, Ukraine’s largest private energy company, faced escalating cyberattacks alongside physical threats to its power infrastructure. To strengthen protection for its critical systems and improve incident response, DTEK’s cyber and information security arm, MODUS X, worked with IBM to build a new security operations center using the IBM QRadar Suite.

IBM implemented IBM QRadar SIEM and IBM QRadar SOAR to centralize monitoring, automate threat detection and response, and add behavioral analytics and ticket management. The new SOC was set up in just three months and has helped DTEK repel more than 150 million cyberattack attempts since 2022, improve threat detection by 5x, and reduce mean time to detect to 10 minutes, triage to 30 minutes, and respond to 70 minutes.
