Quant, a global industrial maintenance services provider, needed to modernize preventive maintenance planning after legacy processes left more than 1,500 Excel-based PM instructions buried in SharePoint and attached to IBM Maximo Manage work orders. Technicians had to manually copy data into Maximo, slowing work, limiting use of advanced features, and creating accuracy risks across more than 17 sites.

IBM helped Quant build a cloud-native solution using IBM watsonx.ai, IBM Cloud Object Storage, IBM Cloud Code Engine, and IBM Maximo Manage to automate extraction, validation, and transformation of maintenance data into structured job plans. The MVP added a validation UI and produced JSON compatible with Maximo, reducing manual labor by 65%, cutting CMMS rollout time by 30%, and automating 1,500+ Excel files into structured job plans.
