SunTrust Banks Improving productivity reducing vulnerability windows

SunTrust Banks, a highly distributed financial services company with nearly 1,800 branches and no local IT resources at most locations, needed better visibility into its network, faster software patch and update cycles, stronger configuration control, and accurate compliance reporting. IBM Security addressed these challenges with IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager, built on BigFix technology, to help SunTrust manage endpoints across its widespread environment.

IBM Security’s IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager was deployed across more than 50,000 PCs, servers, and mobile devices, enabling automated patching, software distribution, asset inventory, and compliance reporting. The results included a 98.5 percent patch and update compliance rate, reduced update cycle times from 2–3 weeks to just 2–3 days, and lower productivity losses and human errors through automation.
