KPJ Healthcare Berhad Private healthcare cloud infrastructure launched for secure medical services provisioning

KPJ Healthcare Berhad, a private healthcare provider operating hospitals across Malaysia and Southeast Asia, faced cost‑intensive, siloed server and storage platforms that slowed clinical decision‑making and business processes. IBM Security (via IBM Security Services—Application and Data Security, alongside IBM infrastructure such as PureFlex, Flex System and Tivoli components) was engaged to secure and modernize KPJ’s IT environment and enable a private cloud for its datacenters and hospitals.

IBM Security implemented a consolidated, secure private cloud that unified medical records and delivered real‑time access at the point of care, improving efficiency, reliability and flexibility while lowering costs. The solution cut infrastructure provisioning to 48 hours (from weeks/months), improved RPO from 24 hours to 1 hour (95% reduction) and reduced RTO from four hours to under one hour (75% improvement), enabling faster clinical decisions and better patient service.
