American National Bank, a subsidiary of American National Corporation with USD 2.1 billion in assets and 32 locations, needed to stay ahead of fraudsters by gaining visibility into customer and employee endpoints. To meet that challenge the bank turned to IBM Security, deploying Trusteer Rapport for customers and Trusteer Apex Advanced Malware Protection for employee desktops to detect, block and remediate phishing and malware threats.

IBM Security’s solutions were rolled out as a SaaS offering (Rapport) and endpoint protection (Apex), with Rapport mandated for commercial customers and optional for retail clients. Using IBM Security technology and deployment materials, the bank achieved nearly 100% adoption among ~3,500 commercial users in four months, is protecting more than 10,000 customers and employees, has detected malware traditional AV missed, and likely averted fraud losses—improving incident response times and customer confidence.
