PathMotion, a cloud-based talent-acquisition and employer-branding platform, needed a modern observability solution as it migrated from an on-prem monolith to microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). As its environment became more complex and containerized, PathMotion turned to IBM Instana to gain visibility into service communication and performance across its Kubernetes-based architecture.

With IBM Instana, PathMotion could automatically visualize and monitor microservices and Kubernetes resources, helping it identify underused capacity and optimize cluster sizing. The company eliminated about 10% of its virtual machines, improved resource utilization, and gained proactive warnings when capacity was strained, enabling faster scaling in GCP and more focus on CI/CD and product development.
