Trustworthy AI Helps Regions Bank Better Serve Customers

Regions Bank, a large U.S. consumer and commercial bank, faced increasing regulatory and customer scrutiny that required trustworthy, explainable AI and stronger model governance — including ModelOps and the ability to detect data and model drift. To meet this challenge, Regions worked with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (supported by IBM Data and AI Expert Labs and the IBM Data Science and AI Elite team) to align tools, methodology and personnel for trustworthy AI.

Using IBM Cloud Pak for Data, the vendor implemented monitoring for data drift and model performance, standardized ModelOps processes, and produced trusted data products (fraud reduction, commercial and wealth advisor support, consumer insights). The initiative delivered measurable impact — tens of millions of dollars in additional revenue while reducing losses — and drove broader demand for AI across the bank.
