Trusted Data Brings Resilience to Rural Communities

iKure, a for‑profit primary healthcare provider serving roughly nine million people across seven Indian states and beyond, faced the challenge of delivering timely cardiac care to remote communities where travel, limited specialists and the Covid‑19 pandemic made in‑person care difficult. To augment its telemedicine and last‑mile model — which uses community health workers, a Braveheart wearable patch and a Wireless Health Incident Monitoring System (WHIMS) — iKure partnered with IBM Cloud Pak for Data to bring AI and trusted data management into its patient workflows.

Using pre‑built models and integrated AI on IBM Cloud Pak for Data, iKure built a decision‑support system that ingests 152 parameters per patient from devices and visits, ranks severity and surfaces the top 10 patients needing immediate attention from pilot cohorts of ~1,000 patients. The IBM Cloud Pak for Data–enabled solution improved specialist prioritization, increased stakeholder trust, supported plans to scale (including adding 200 hubs over four years) and helped iKure manage large, distributed caseloads more effectively.
