Habitat Magazine Creating New Digital Revenue Streams and Engagement for its Established User Base

Habitat Magazine is an independent, paid-circulation title serving about 7,500 co-op, condo and HOA board directors and property managers in the greater New York area. Facing a shifting, increasingly digital audience and the need to protect subscription and advertising revenues while growing new digital income streams, the publisher set out to evolve from a print-first model into a multi-channel digital business.

Working with Mugo Web on an eZ Platform DXP, Habitat launched initiatives including a gated Habitat Archive, Google Ad Manager integration, multi-channel editorial (video and sponsored content) and an eLearning pilot (HabitatU) with SSO. The results: web advertising has doubled, multi-channel editorial revenues have grown 68% since 2016, and the scalable content platform enabled faster experimentation and better audience insights—while lessons from lower-ROI pilots have helped the team refocus on the most profitable channels.
