Digital and personalized workplace improves productivity

Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM) is the City of Barcelona’s municipal services company with 1,700 employees across 24 business units. Facing an antiquated intranet, a largely mobile workforce, fragmented communications and limited access to business apps, BSM needed a user-centered digital workplace that delivered personalized, real-time information and app access on any device.

Microblau (with FHIOS) implemented eZ Platform as a scalable DXP, integrating Office 365, Moodle, VisualPlan and Meta4 HR with SAML/ADFS SSO, plus personalized “My Things” and manager dashboards and a drag‑and‑drop page builder. The new portal became the single source for work-related information and apps, enabled many-to-many updates and incident alerts, and drove adoption—over 70% of workers log in regularly and more than half of interactions are on mobile—earning positive user feedback and improved productivity.
