Lockheed Martin’s Flight to Perfect Quality

Lockheed Martin’s Clearwater facility faced the challenge of producing a low-volume, high-mix portfolio of ruggedized, high-reliability electronics for stringent military and regulatory requirements while driving continuous quality improvement and paperless shop-floor operations. To meet those demands, Lockheed Martin deployed iBASEt’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with its embedded Quality Management System (EQMS) to standardize processes, collect real-time data, and enforce compliance.

iBASEt’s MES/EQMS provided real-time SPC, immediate alerts on out-of-control conditions, automated nonconformance and corrective-action workflows, and full visibility of work-in-process, creating a closed-loop improvement system. As a result, Lockheed Martin achieved a 97% reduction in defects over ten years, a 46.9% reduction in scrap/rework costs, near-perfect audit performance, and supplier awards including a 99.8% delivered quality level and 100% on-time delivery recognition—outcomes attributed to the iBASEt solution.
