HealthlinkNY Navigates an HIE Merger, Boosts Participation and Utilization with Help from Iatric Systems Professional Services

HealthlinkNY, a regional Health Information Exchange formed by the merger of Southern Tier HealthLink and THINC and serving 13 counties in New York and parts of Pennsylvania, needed to merge two HIE networks’ operations and technology without losing momentum on many ongoing integrations. To guide the transition and manage onboarding and operational gaps, HealthlinkNY contracted Iatric Systems Professional Services for interim leadership and technical support.

Iatric Systems Professional Services deployed two experts — an interim CTO/COO who established processes, collaboration tools, a CRM, project management systems and an interface engine, and an interim Regional Director who negotiated accounts and led provider onboarding — resulting in a unified, streamlined HIE. With Iatric Systems’ help, HealthlinkNY increased participation and utilization across hospitals, long‑term care, private practices and health departments, engaging at least 130 clients and signing 56 new participation agreements in 2016 while pursuing new analytics, alerting and directed-exchange use cases.
