400+ Digital Signage Systems by IAdea Streamline Operation at Taiwan International Airport

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan's largest international gateway serving over 20 million passengers, faced rapidly rising passenger flow from new routes and major terminal expansion. To streamline transit and improve passenger experience during renovation, the airport deployed more than 400 digital signage systems powered by IAdea media appliances across check-in counters, boarding areas, concourses and baggage halls.

IAdea high-definition media appliances were selected and installed by system integrator T-COM, which implemented a software connector to feed the players with live flight and safety data from the airport’s database. The deployment (about 320 check‑in screens, 204 boarding‑area screens and numerous concourse/baggage displays) uses IAdea’s open W3C SMIL/SOAP API and solid‑state, fan‑less hardware; T-COM reports the IAdea players have been highly reliable, reducing maintenance and ensuring up‑to‑date information to speed passenger processing.
