Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore - Customer Case Study

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore engaged i-Sprint to replace its legacy systems with a Microsoft .NET–based infrastructure that would meet Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) security guidelines. The tax authority required support for multiple authentication channels (e.g., Active Directory, SingPass, temp/permanent PINs, IVRS), end-to-end protection of customer PINs, role-based access control with segregation of duties, decentralized user administration for tax agents, automated reporting and housekeeping, and a reusable security infrastructure to cover its IRIN estate of 25+ applications and ~90 servers.

i-Sprint implemented its AccessMatrix™ Universal Access Management (UAM) platform (on Windows Server/MS SQL with SafeNet Luna HSM) to deliver single sign-on, fine-grained RBAC, delegated administration for tax agents, SingPass and HSM integration, and end-to-end encryption. The solution consolidated security administration and application logs, improved usability and developer productivity, reduced application development and maintenance effort, enabled decentralized tax-filing workflows, and met MAS compliance requirements while supporting the authority’s suite of critical applications.
