Bayer HealthCare Limited, the Hong Kong affiliate of Bayer AG, faced challenges with counterfeit medicines and a lack of identifiable features for patients to confirm product authenticity; distributors and retailers also relied on physical cut-outs for redemption, which hindered traceability. i-Sprint’s AccessReal solution was selected to provide anti-counterfeit, track-and-trace and consumer-marketing capabilities.

i-Sprint implemented AccessReal’s dual-layer serialized QR/AR labels (hidden AR code plus a first-layer QR for redemption), encryption and a heat-map dashboard to capture scan activity. The deployment digitalized redemption (eliminating cut-outs), enabled instant consumer authentication, allowed Bayer to trace duplicated/replicated codes back to distribution sources, and provided location-based scan data and alerts for suspected counterfeits.
