HyTrust Builds QTS a FedRAMP Compliant Cloud

QTS, a cloud hosting provider, was building new VMware-based infrastructure for its commercial and government IaaS offerings. The company turned to vendor HyTrust and its HyTrust CloudControl product to implement stricter administrative controls, improve isolation, and reduce risk.

HyTrust provided a virtual appliance that delivered platform hardening through automated compliance templates, created administrative multi-tenancy with tag-based access controls, and improved log quality for auditing. This solution dramatically simplified QTS's path to FedRAMP certification and also enhanced the security of their commercial cloud offering. The deployment with HyTrust was exceptionally smooth, and the technical team provided a clear matrix showing how the product addressed 27 specific FedRAMP controls.
