Xi’an Xianyang International Airport deploys 1,116 Hytera 5G terminals to modernize operations

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, the largest airport in Northwest China, faced the challenge of modernizing its communications to remove data silos and support its expansion into a multi-modal transport hub. The airport needed a unified system that could integrate narrowband radio and broadband services across its entire geographic footprint. To meet these demands, they partnered with Hytera to implement a next-generation mission-critical communication solution.

Hytera implemented a private 5G network, its HyTalk Pro PoC software management platform, and 1,116 PNC560 5G handheld terminals. This solution provided integrated voice, video, and data services, enabling smart logistics with integrated scanners and reliable coordination for ground crews. The deployment enhanced operational efficiency and safety, resulting in reduced baggage transfer times, more accurate cargo tracking, and faster emergency response coordination across 12 critical airport departments.
