PT. Sultra Sarana Bumi, a subsidiary of the Billy Indonesia Group, faced significant communication and safety challenges at its nickel mine in Sulawesi. The company needed a robust system to coordinate operations across 15 km of hilly terrain and to monitor dump trucks in real time, as over 100 accidents had occurred due to speeding. Hytera deployed its DMR IP Multi-site Connect solution to address these needs.

Hytera's solution integrated HR1068 repeaters, HM688 mobile radios with GPS, and HP568 handheld terminals, all managed by a Smart Dispatch Plus platform. This provided seamless communication and real-time tracking with an over-speed alert feature that triggers an alarm if trucks exceed 50 km/h. The results were a significant reduction in truck accidents and improved operational efficiency across the mining site and coastal jetty.
