Busan New Port Company improves port communications with Hytera using 350 handhelds and 250 mobile radios

The Busan New Port Company, a major port operator, faced significant audio and connectivity issues with its initial Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) system. The low audio volume on the terminals and poor connectivity with an overseas server led to delays, dropped calls, and frequent signal drops, creating an urgent need for a more robust communication solution. The customer turned to vendor Hytera for a resolution.

Hytera solved these problems by customizing its PNC380 PoC handheld terminals with multiple volume settings and installing MNC360 mobile radios in port cranes and vehicles. A local server was implemented to eliminate delays and dropped calls. The solution provided reliable, nationwide communications, enabled real-time GPS tracking of personnel and equipment for more efficient operations, and delivered excellent audio performance even in high-noise environments.
