A Hyrell Case Study
The Center for Student Missions (CSM), a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that runs short-term urban mission trips in 11 U.S. cities, hires 75–100 seasonal interns plus a few full-time staff each year. High-volume, distributed hiring had become difficult to manage: candidate documents, references and communications were scattered across email and calendars, making coordination and consistent messaging between city managers nearly impossible.
CSM implemented Hyrell to centralize applicant tracking, interview scheduling, reference checks and onboarding, using customizable templates and virtual interview questions to gain deeper insight into candidates. The system organized all applicant files and appointments in one place, enabled city managers to share and collaborate on candidates, reduced paperwork through online references and bulk onboarding exports, and produced smoother hiring experiences that staff and interns have praised.
