ProNest software helps Craig Manufacturing meet new challenges

Craig Manufacturing, a large privately owned heavy equipment attachment manufacturer, faced a significant production bottleneck due to its slow and inefficient nesting software. This created a major constraint at the start of its manufacturing process, with every hour of programming only yielding one hour of cutting. To address this challenge, the company turned to vendor Hypertherm and its ProNest CAD/CAM part nesting software.

The solution, which integrated ProNest with a new Hypertherm plasma cutting system, eliminated the bottleneck. The implementation resulted in a massive 19x productivity boost, providing 19 hours of cutting for every hour of nesting. For Craig Manufacturing, this greatly increased material utilization, improved cut quality with Hypertherm's True Hole technology, and reduced its raw material inventory by half, freeing up significant cash flow.
