Phoenix Products achieves closer tolerances, little distortion with XPR300

Phoenix Products, a division of Ring Power Corporation that manufactures armored vehicles and generator enclosures, faced challenges with their old plasma cutting system. Their previous process for cutting tough ballistic steel was slow and imprecise, limiting them to only 5-10 plates per day and requiring extensive grinding and deburring of bolt holes.

By implementing Hypertherm's XPR300 plasma cutting system with True Hole technology, the vendor provided a solution that dramatically improved their operation. The results for Phoenix Products included a 300% increase in productivity to 20-30 plates per day, bolt-ready holes that eliminated secondary work, and superior cut quality with little heat distortion. The Hypertherm system was also easy to use, allowing operators to be fully trained in a single day.
