A Hyperledger Case Study
Tech Mahindra set out to digitize Abu Dhabi’s paper-based land registry, a complex, multi-stakeholder process that could span years and was prone to errors, lost documents, and security concerns. To create a secure, permissioned blockchain backbone for this transformation, Tech Mahindra selected Hyperledger’s Fabric platform to provide privacy, governance, and an auditable single source of truth.
Using Hyperledger Fabric, Tech Mahindra integrated a blockchain layer into the existing Smart Hub portal, implemented private channels, smart contracts, and seven node.js APIs, and deployed peers and an orderer with Raft consensus to enable viewing, time-limited sharing, and immutable audit trails. The pilot onboarded Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Aldar Properties, protected citizen data, removed manual touchpoints, and established a scalable foundation intended to serve up to 1.45 million residents—benefits underpinned by Hyperledger’s privacy features and active open-source community.
