Case Study: BondEvalue democratizes bond investing by launching the world’s first fractional bond exchange with Hyperledger Sawtooth

A Hyperledger Case Study

Preview of the BondEvalue Case Study

How BondEvalue launched the world’s first fractional bond exchange with Hyperledger Sawtooth

BondEvalue, a Singapore-based fintech, set out to solve two long-standing problems in international bond markets: high minimum investment thresholds (typically $200,000) and manual, over-the-phone trading that depresses liquidity and accessibility for retail HENRY investors. To build a modern, regulated bond trading infrastructure, BondEvalue partnered with Hyperledger and implemented the open-source Hyperledger Sawtooth framework to power its BondbloX Bond Exchange.

Using Hyperledger Sawtooth, BondEvalue fractionalized traditional bonds into $1,000 BondbloX units (one-to-one backed and custodised), enabled T+0 settlement in seconds, and maintained permissioned, final transaction consensus with PBFT — all while operating under MAS regulation and integrating partners such as Northern Trust and UOB Kay Hian. The Hyperledger-powered exchange lowered the minimum investment from $200,000 to $1,000, increased accessibility and liquidity, graduated the MAS sandbox in under a year, and positioned BondEvalue to scale retail access to institutional-grade bond markets.
