Honeywell Aerospace drives $4 million in used parts sales with Hyperledger

Honeywell Aerospace, a global provider of avionics and aircraft services, faced the challenge of modernizing the $4 billion used aircraft parts industry. Their goal was to create an efficient, trusted online marketplace to replace an outdated process that relied on phone calls and emails, taking days or weeks to complete a purchase. To overcome the significant trust barrier, they partnered with vendor Hyperledger to implement a blockchain solution.

Using the Hyperledger Fabric framework, Honeywell built the GoDirect Trade marketplace, which provides an immutable digital ledger for part pedigrees and a modern e-commerce experience. The solution dramatically reduced purchase times from days to minutes. As a result, the platform achieved $4 million in sales in less than a year, attracted over 50 vendors, and registered almost 5,000 users, capturing nearly a third of its target market.
