Honeywell Aerospace creates online parts marketplace with Hyperledger Fabric

Honeywell Aerospace set out to modernize the $4 billion used aircraft parts market by building an Amazon‑style B2B marketplace (GoDirect Trade) to cut purchasing time from days or weeks to seconds and to link each physical part to a verifiable digital pedigree. To overcome the industry’s trust and certification barriers, Honeywell selected Hyperledger—specifically Hyperledger Fabric—as the blockchain foundation for immutable, auditable part histories and secure transactions.

Using Hyperledger Fabric (with a middleware layer, private channels and five validating nodes), Honeywell launched GoDirect Trade as an MVP in eight weeks and quickly scaled it: $1M in sales in the first 10 weeks and more than $4M in under a year, nearly 5,000 registered users, and over 50 vendor storefronts. Hyperledger’s blockchain reduced purchase cycles from days to minutes, sped parts listing and dismantling processes, and created a permanent trail that improves anti‑counterfeit and traceability capabilities.
