Case Study: ChainYard slashes vendor onboarding from 60 to 3 days and reduces risk with Hyperledger Fabric

A Hyperledger Case Study

Preview of the ChainYard Case Study

ChainYard and IBM reduce new vendor risk & drastically cut onboarding from 60 to 3 days with Hyperledger Fabric

ChainYard, a blockchain consulting firm, faced a slow, costly and error‑prone supplier onboarding process—large enterprises routinely took 45–60 days to approve a new vendor. Working with IBM and leveraging the Hyperledger ecosystem, ChainYard aimed to modernize supplier information management by creating a secure, shareable corporate digital ID built on Hyperledger Fabric.

Using Hyperledger Fabric, ChainYard and IBM launched the Trust Your Supplier network (in production since September 2019) to issue decentralized IDs and store verifiable credentials; the Hyperledger‑based solution cut vendor onboarding from 60 days to 3 days, reduced buyers’ verification and maintenance costs by about 50%, onboarded 25 founding corporate members and thousands of suppliers to a 10‑node production network, and delivered measurable time‑and‑cost savings while preserving privacy and auditability.
