Preview of the BondEvalue Case Study

BondEvalue launches fractional bond exchange with Hyperledger Sawtooth and $1,000 BondbloX

BondEvalue, a Singapore-based fintech company, faced the challenge of making the international bond market accessible. With high minimum investments of $200,000 and a reliance on phone-based trading, the market was impenetrable for many investors. To modernize this infrastructure and create a more inclusive trading platform, BondEvalue turned to vendor Hyperledger and its product, Hyperledger Sawtooth.

Using Hyperledger Sawtooth, BondEvalue built the world's first fully regulated blockchain-based bond exchange. The solution allowed bonds to be fractionalized into $1,000 units, dramatically lowering the barrier to entry. This resulted in near-instantaneous settlement and created a more liquid market. The exchange successfully graduated from the Monetary Authority of Singapore's regulatory sandbox and attracted major financial institutions as partners, opening up institutional bond markets to a new class of investors.
