Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe Gains 40% Performance Increase, Reduces Live Migration Times by 50%

The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe, one of Northern Arizona’s largest employers, needed a scalable Hyper-V environment that could deliver high performance, fault tolerance, and a small footprint for its resort, casinos, and business operations. After finding that other storage options forced a tradeoff between speed and resilience, the tribe turned to HyperGrid and its HyperConverged Infrastructure for a solution that could support 24x7 availability and eliminate VM boot storms.

HyperGrid implemented a three-appliance, all-flash HyperConverged Infrastructure cluster with 51.8TB of storage. The result was a highly robust environment that delivered about 40% more performance than the tribe’s Microsoft Server 2012 stand-alone hosts, cut Live Migration times by 50%, and nearly eliminated boot storms by bringing VMs online in under 60 seconds, saving 30–45 minutes per host during maintenance windows.
