Case Study: Tearfund achieves $1.3M IT cost savings with HyperGrid

A HyperGrid Case Study

Preview of the Tearfund Case Study

HyperGrid delivers almost $1.3 million IT cost savings for global relief and development agency

Tearfund, a global Christian charity working to alleviate poverty across Asia, Africa, and South and Central America, was struggling with aging, inefficient IT infrastructure that drove up management, power, and cooling costs. Its slow processing times, which could take up to 12 hours for key workloads, were also delaying projects and taking staff time away from its charitable work. HyperGrid was selected to help modernize this environment using its HyperCloud platform.

HyperGrid consolidated Tearfund’s infrastructure into a single private cloud with centralized management and deployed two all-SSD HyperCloud platforms for production and failover. The solution cut processing time from 12 hours to 20 minutes, reduced power consumption from 22KW/h to 3KW/h, and delivered more than $1 million in five-year savings, including about $260,000 in energy savings and roughly $973,000 in maintenance and engineering savings. HyperGrid also helped Tearfund simplify operations and free IT staff to focus on higher-value projects.
