A HYPE Innovation Case Study
Swisslog, a global supplier of integrated logistics solutions with about 2,100 employees, hired an innovation manager in 2011 to launch an enterprise-wide online idea platform. After early enthusiasm engagement dropped, participation waned and many employees were either unaware or skeptical of the program, leaving campaign response very low and putting the initiative’s credibility at risk.
Working with HYPE, Swisslog refocused campaigns with senior (non‑innovation) sponsors, clearer communications, tactical challenge topics and regular outcome reporting to build trust and relevance. The changes drove dramatic improvements—average ideas per campaign jumped from under 20 to nearly 180, idea quality and diversity rose, implementation velocity improved, and the program is on track to exceed a €380k ROI target.
