A HYPE Innovation Case Study
Ricoh New Zealand, a 390‑person subsidiary of global imaging company Ricoh, had long used an in‑house suggestion system (iBox) that collected over 5,000 ideas with ~70% implementation but was showing limits in collaboration, reporting and strategic alignment. Leadership wanted a more scalable, user‑friendly solution plus a dedicated team to drive idea development, alignment to company goals and broader employee engagement.
Ricoh selected HYPE and relaunched the program as ThinkTWICE, creating a five‑person National Innovation Team and local champions to focus ideas across six strategic areas, add collaboration and gamification, and formalize decision and execution rules. The result has been sustained high implementation rates, stronger cross‑location collaboration and participation, clearer KPIs and visibility of impact, and a culture of continuous improvement embedded into day‑to‑day work.
