A HYPE Innovation Case Study
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) operates five private U.S. hospitals with about 4,900 employees and a mission to deliver innovative, whole-person cancer care. Facing a projected influx of patients after 2013 healthcare changes, CTCA needed a way to maintain high-quality, affordable care by pooling expertise across locations and engaging staff in focused improvement efforts.
CTCA partnered with HYPE to launch Ideas Marketplace 2.0 and build an innovation ecosystem of intrapreneurs to run targeted idea campaigns. The program drove high cross‑disciplinary engagement and tangible outcomes—e.g., a service-standards campaign produced 53 ideas and 238 comments with 12 implemented, and a communications campaign produced 68 ideas and 494 comments with 7 implemented and 6 under review—improving patient care and making the workplace more inclusive.
