Implementing Innovative Approaches Towards Entrepreneurship

The University of Koblenz‑Landau, winner of the “Gründungskultur” excellence initiative, sought to embed a systematic approach to scientific entrepreneurship across teaching and transfer activities. The challenge was to provide a robust, location- and time-independent idea-management infrastructure that supports idea generation, elaboration, evaluation and interdisciplinary collaboration between faculties, students and researchers.

In 2013 the university partnered with HYPE Innovation to deploy the “Idea‑Campus” platform — a Web 2.0-based idea and innovation management system that supports classroom exercises, field projects and early-stage venture development. The solution streamlined feedback and collaboration, generated more than 90 new ideas and 300+ comments/evaluations to date, and demonstrated clear potential for wider use in education, transfer activities and internal process optimization.
