Case Study: UC San Diego achieves collective impact with HYPE Innovation

A HYPE Innovation Case Study

Preview of the UC San Diego Case Study

How UC San Diego Went from Crowdsourcing to Collective Impact

UC San Diego faced the challenge of moving beyond its 2014 Campus Strategic Plan and turning broad campus input into sustained action. After a highly inclusive planning effort involving more than 10,000 participants, the university needed a way to keep cross-campus collaboration going and align innovation with its five strategic goals. UC San Diego chose HYPE Innovation to help launch an innovation management platform for the entire campus.

With HYPE Innovation, UC San Diego created a way to scale and sustain collaborative dialogue across campus and shift from “planning” to “doing.” The platform helped channel ideas toward strategic priorities and support ongoing engagement around key issues and opportunities, enabling UC San Diego to harness collective input more effectively and drive implementation of its goals.
