Syngenta is a world‑leading plant‑science company (24,000 employees across 90 countries) whose Seeds division accounts for about 40% of revenue. Wanting to extend its open‑innovation program to final consumers and involve many more employees, Seeds moved beyond manual, workshop‑based idea capture and needed a consistent, visible process to manage and develop ideas through its innovation lifecycle.

Syngenta piloted and then rolled out the HYPE idea‑management platform to capture workshop output and run online campaigns; the program now involves 400+ users, has run ~40 campaigns and captured over 800 ideas, producing 48 mini‑concepts and 13 project proposals. The system increased process visibility and efficiency, raised concept quality, strengthened customer relationships and made idea development easier to manage.
