The White Horse Federation, a multi-academy trust, faced administrative complexity by participating in four different Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds. They engaged Hymans Robertson to explore the feasibility of consolidating into a single fund to streamline payroll, pay one contribution rate, gain more input on funding strategies, and ensure ill health liability insurance for all academies.

Hymans Robertson conducted a feasibility study and then provided project management to lead the consolidation. Their team managed the legal and regulatory process, including obtaining a Secretary of State Direction, and supported the transfer of member data and assets. The consolidation was fully achieved on 1 November 2019, resulting in reduced administration and better representation for The White Horse Federation.
